The Space Between Becoming

Updated: Apr 21

The Space Between Becoming

We often speak of who we were. And who we are becoming.

But what about this moment — the one between the two?

The place where something has quietly ended, and nothing has quite begun.

This space is subtle. It doesn't announce itself with clarity. It comes with fog. With silence. With discomfort.

And yet, it is here that the ground softens. Here that old shapes dissolve. Here that we meet the mystery of what is not yet formed.

In the Book of Isaiah, it is written:

"I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert."

Not everything that feels like loss is absence. Sometimes, it's preparation. Sometimes, it’s grace in a form we haven’t learned to recognize.

between the seed and the sprout,

there is a pause,

not death,

not growth,

just stillness,

you do not belong to the past,

and the future has not claimed you,

you are breath holding itself,

sky before the light breaks,

let yourself be unmade,

let the in-between wash through you,

what is becoming cannot be rushed,

it is not delay,

it is design,

a kindness too deep for definition.

If you find yourself in the waiting — not quite here, not yet there — know that this too is sacred.

You are not lost. You are unfolding.

If this met you where you are, feel free to echo back. Or simply rest in the space between.
